A seal (or stamp) was an impression intended to guarantee the authenticity of a document and ensure that the letter or document had not been previously opened.

The sealing wax set from the French brand J. Herbin contains 10 wax sticks measuring 22 cm in length.
Each stick can make about 20 stamps.
They are fragile, break easily, and their excellent quality allows the production of wax seals worthy of the 17th century.
To make such a seal, break a stick of wax and place it in a wax spoon.
Then place it slightly above the candle flame, which will melt the wax.
When the wax is hot, simply pour it onto the sealing tray and apply the seal.
The wax hardens at room temperature.
