Among the pencils dedicated to world-class artists, there could not be missing those dedicated to the work of the famous New Yorker, Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Basquiat began his career practicing graffiti. Over time, his work expanded to include painting and other arts, including founding his own band. Developing his passions, he became a worthy colleague, even Andy Warhol, with whom he created over 100 paintings.
Basquiat's work is recognizable for its combination of a raw, primitive style with an extraordinary sense of color and composition. His paintings feature fragments of text, numbers, letters, and single words, diagrams, pictograms, cartographic symbols, and much, much more.
Basquiat created works using paint, wax crayons, UV inks, and collage. His art resonates to this day because, as he once said, "when I paint, I think about life, not art."

Blackwing VOL.57 pencils are a tribute to this extraordinary artist. The number 57 is a reference to the place where Jean-Michele Basquiat painted his most recognizable works – 57 Great Jones Street in New York City.
The pencils, equipped with soft graphite, are covered with colorful strokes, as if drawn directly from Basquiat's hand. The box, in turn, features a reproduction of a fragment of the painting "Skull" from the Untitled series. The gold eraser cap features the symbol of a distinctive crown with three peaks, a recurring motif in the artist's work.
