Blackwing vol. 71 – a play on light and shadow

Blackwing vol. 71 – gra światłocieniem

Frank Lloyd Wright is a name known not only among architecture and art enthusiasts of the modernist period. One of the most important designers of the 20th century, the creator and promoter of the concept of organic architecture, he designed, among other things, the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Wright's most important goal was the harmony of the building with its surroundings and inhabitants – every detail of his designs, from the ceramics, furniture, accessories, and exterior design, was meticulously considered and deliberately placed. He coined the term "Usonian style," a style of residential architecture born in the United States, accessible to the middle class, yet harmonious and practical. The first house meeting these criteria was built when Frank Lloyd Wright was… 71!

Blackwing vol. 71 evokes one of Wright's signature designs: clerestories made of veneer, whose shape and positioning just below the ceiling, above or instead of traditional windows, not only allowed for more light into the rooms, but also transformed the space through the play of light and shadow as the sun traveled across the sky.

The light wooden barrel of the Blackwing vol. 71 pencil reveals geometric shapes created with muted, natural colors. The copper-colored cap and colorful eraser complement the light wooden barrel. The pencil features exceptionally hard lead, perfect for sketching, planning, and note-taking.
