The end of the year is a time when Escribo asks a question that for many of us is almost a ritual: "What calendar are you taking for next year?" It's a moment when the true characters and preferences of each of us are revealed. Here's what this year's choices looked like!
Monika chose Hobonichi Weeks and Midori Business Diary B5 – the latter wasn't available in our regular store. It's a combination of a compact everyday format with a more business-like approach – perfect for someone who likes to keep everything organized. Pusiu – a tiny Japanese calendar shaped like a pug – will be on the shelf!
Oliwia also decided on Hobonichi Weeks and Hobonichi Original A6 , and she will also hang an MD with a pencil on the wall – a perfect set for someone who likes to have both a detailed and macro overview of their plans.
Dagmara opted for simplicity: a monthly A5 calendar plus a notebook – a classic that never disappoints. Minimalist? Yes! But Dagmara has been using this calendar for two years, which is exactly how long she's been working with us! – she'd never used paper calendars before! This work changes people ;)
Ami chose Hobonichi Weeks and Hobonichi Original A6 – a proven duo for a lover of Japanese aesthetics! Ami has been choosing these formats for years!
Julia has picked up a Hobonichi Aveo A6 and will spend another year with a five-year Hobonichi calendar – a long-term commitment to documenting life!
I, Elmira, decided on my tried-and-true classics: the MD A5 Monthly Notebook + Monthly Insert , the TN Monthly Insert , and the new Iconic Solitude – plus an MD Wall Notebook with Pencil and a Himekuri Desk Notebook for work. This is a true collection for someone who takes planning seriously!
Robert chose the proven monthly refill for the passport-sized Traveler's Notebook , and at home he shares a wall-mounted MD with Elmira, it's their reality regulation system!
What does this say about our team?
Looking at these choices, one thing is certain: at Escribo, we value quality, functionality, and beauty in everyday tools. Most of us choose trusted Japanese brands like Hobonichi and Midori, which combine practicality with aesthetics.
Apart from individual choices, we use two shared wall calendars - in which we plan holidays, events and premieres - one is Eric Small Things - and you will see him in the store right behind the counter, and the other - in the office - is Midori Hanger - it's been 3 years with this calendar, so we needed the insert itself.
Will our calendars last the entire year in perfect condition? We'll see in 12 months!
And what calendars have you chosen for 2026?
