Long-term diaries – let's meet after many years

Pamiętniki wieloletnie – spotkajmy się po latach

I won't deny that I'm a huge fan of long-term journals, which you can read about here. I've been keeping a gratitude journal for three years now, and I truly appreciate these reconnections with myself after all these years and discovering how many reasons there are in my life to be grateful for.

Midori's long-term diaries were created specifically for people who want to highlight every day of their lives, but at the same time don't have the time or ability to write long notes.

Nothing is accidental

At first glance – regardless of whether we are looking at a three-year, five-year or ten-year diary – Midori diaries are characterized by minimalism and quality (in my opinion, these words are synonymous with the word Midori).

Midori 5 Years Diary

The sewn diaries were created in two versions – a minimalist series with an image of a door on the cover and a five-year diary with an embroidered cover that attracts attention with its texture and colors.

Each element of the long-term diary was created for a specific purpose – the cardboard case is intended to protect our diary, but in addition to decorative gilding, it also contains a space on the spine for writing down the years in which our diary was created.

A unique design is printed on the edge of each page. When the diary is closed, these designs create an index, allowing you to quickly locate a specific month. In the case of the diary with an embroidered cover, this function is performed by a cross-stitch-like design.

The lines on the paper aren't perfectly straight—they resemble those drawn by hand. Therefore, our diary isn't soullessly perfect, but exactly like us. Unless we choose the embroidered version, in which case the days will be separated by different embroidery patterns.

In three- and five-year diaries, each date is divided into one page. This page is divided into three or five sections, allowing for the recording of a few lines or sentences on a given day. In the ten-year diary, each page is divided into five sections, but each day is divided into two pages, providing a cross-sectional view of the entire ten years.

I should add here that we don't have to worry about February – the diaries are printed so that the second month always has 29 days. If a given year has fewer days, we naturally skip that date.

And, as they say, last but not least… the slightly creamy MD paper inside the diaries! Anyone familiar with MD paper knows that everything has already been said about its quality. Perfect for writing with a fountain pen, it doesn't fray or bleed through. Tests have shown that it holds up equally well to writing with pencil, ballpoint pen, fineliner, gel pen, and even marker. This paper ensures that any diary will stand the test of time.

Meeting after many years – with each other or not only?

As I mentioned in the introduction, a long-term journal can be a gratitude journal. But what else? You probably didn't realize how many uses such a journal could have. Below, I've listed just a few of the note-taking methods I know of—you can discover the rest on your own. Let us know in the comments what your own methods for writing such a journal are.

Gratitude journaling – according to doctors, it reduces the long-term effects of stress and, above all, helps you remember what truly matters. It doesn't require long sentences. Even one line a day can help you recall a good memory from a year ago.

A diary is a place to jot down all the memorable moments we'll return to after a year, two, or three. These can be everyday events, life events, or commentaries on the state of the world.

Przemyślnik – a place where you can write down your thoughts on any topic. You draw conclusions about your reactions to what happened that day, and meeting with yourself years later makes it easier to track your own development.

Dreambook – recording our dreams improves memory and helps us understand our dreams. A long-term dreambook is also a tool that helps us better understand ourselves. After all, our brains solve problems during sleep.

A pregnancy journal and/or a baby journal – daily notes that serve as an invaluable testament to parenthood, which we can give to our child on a special occasion, such as their 18th birthday. There's probably no more touching gift than this.

In conclusion

There's no perfect time to start a long-term diary. Any time is fine. Although they're all arranged chronologically, we can start on a sunny Wednesday in May... This freedom is the best thing about long-term diaries.

If you're looking for a long-term companion or want to give a special gift to someone truly close, the Midori Long-Term Diary is exactly what you're looking for. I'm rooting for you to fill it with the most beautiful memories!
