TACCIA Ukiyo-e Ink | Kuniyoshi-uguisucha
- Description
Uguisucha — a subdued, grey-green brown, the color of the Japanese nightingale's (uguisu) plumage — is one of eight colors in the TACCIA Ukiyo-e Ink | Utagawa Kuniyoshi collection, inspired by the ukiyo-e woodblock prints of the Japanese master of the late Edo period. The subtle, earthy tone refers to the background and mid-ground of Kuniyoshi's works — the space where tense and fantastical scenes unfold, from monstrous skeletons to cunning cats.
