The KUM Automatic AS3 is a sharpener designed for technicians, engineers, architects, and artists – all who value a long, perfectly sharp lead. Thanks to the separate sharpening of the wood and graphite, each sharpening yields a perfect, repeatable result.

How does it work?

Phase 1 – Wood sharpening
The sharpener only sharpens the pencil's wood until the graphite touches the automatic stop. Further sharpening in this phase is impossible – the graphite is now exposed to the correct length for the second phase.

Phase 2 – Graphite shaping
The graphite is precisely shaped into a perfect cone. The automatic stop prevents over-sharpening once the final effect is achieved.

The result is a conical tip with a 9-degree angle – ready for work.
