Wancher x Sailor Fountain Pen | Imari | 18k

Wancher x Sailor Imari 18K combines the modern functionality of a fountain pen with the color palette of traditional Japanese Imari-yaki porcelain. The glossy blue barrel and cap meet sweet, cinnabar-hued finials, creating a composition that changes its expression depending on the angle and intensity of light.

The colors characteristic of Imari ceramics have been transferred to translucent PMMA resin and carefully distributed over the pen's surface. Light partially penetrates the material, bringing out a cool, glassy sheen reminiscent of glazed porcelain. An 18K gold nib completes the elegant form and gives this variant a distinctly luxurious character.

Inspiration from Imari ceramics

Imari and Nabeshima are among the most esteemed porcelain traditions from the Arita region of Japan. Their origins date back to the Edo period, when the development of domestic porcelain allowed for the creation of wares intended as exceptional gifts and official presents. These required the work of the most experienced artisans, and the techniques developed at that time, along with their characteristic color palette, continue to delight today.
