How does the Japanese edition differ from the English version?

The original Japanese edition of Cousin has a unique East Asian traditional atmosphere, which consists of several unique visual and substantive elements:

• Japanese holidays and lunar calendar: All holidays and Sundays are marked in a delicate red color.
• Traditional Rokuyo markings: Each day in the monthly calendar has markings from the traditional Japanese six-day cycle predicting good fortune—popular for planning important life events.
• Solar Terms (24 miniature seasons): The traditional division of the year into 24 climatic periods derived from the Chinese-Japanese lunisolar calendar.
• Quotes on each daily page: One quote in Japanese on each page (in the English version—once every two pages).
• Discreet aesthetics: The calendar title on the cover is embossed in a grey shade on ivory-colored cardboard.

Japanese papermaking craftsmanship

• Tomoe River S paper (white): Ultra-thin, incredibly smooth—phenomenally handles fountain pen inks. Does not bleed through, spectacularly highlights shading and sheen.
• Flat-Lay thread binding: Opens perfectly flat at 180°—convenient for writing from margin to margin without holding down pages.
• A5 format (Cousin): The largest model in the brand's portfolio (148 × 210 mm)—twice the space of the A6 Original version.

Interior Architecture (January–December 2027)
