What is the Avec format?

The Hobonichi Techo Cousin Avec is a unique set of two volumes that divides the year into two handy books: Book 1 (January–June) and Book 2 (July–December). It's an ideal solution for those who love the spaciousness of A5 but want to avoid carrying a thick planner all year round.

• Half the thickness and weight: Each volume contains 288 pages (vs. 544 in the full Cousin) and weighs approximately 260g — light and comfortable for everyday transport.
• Compatible with A5 covers: Fits all standard Hobonichi A5 covers. You can slip in one volume and leave space for an additional notebook.

How does the Japanese edition differ from the English edition?

• Japanese holiday calendar: Sundays and holidays highlighted in red ink with subtle letters in the background.
• Rokuyo markings: Traditional six-day Japanese cycle on monthly pages — used for planning weddings and important ceremonies.
• Old calendar and Solar Terms: Lunar-solar dates and traditional seasonal turning points.
• Quote for each day: One inspiring thought in Japanese at the bottom of each daily page (in the English version — once every two pages).
