This series of covers from the Japanese brand Hobonichi combines original design with solid bookbinding and high-quality materials. The cover is inspired by the Shin-Bijutsukai.
Bijutsukai and Shin Bijutsuk ai are books on craft design published during the Meiji period (1868–1912). Both feature beautiful designs created by various Japanese painters and designers. This collection of multicolored woodblock print designs was published by Unsodo, an art publishing house based in Kyoto and the only publisher of hand-printed woodblock print books in Japan.
The artwork was printed on textured polyester fabric to evoke the warm feel of a pastel oil painting. This composition depicts a bird's-eye view of a ferry with a touch of a breeze.
The blue interior of the cover features nine convenient pockets, including card and business card slots, as well as two large pockets perfect for storing tickets, receipts, and anything else important to you! The cover lining, found beneath the pockets, also features a sky motif with seashells scattered throughout. It also features pen loops that double as a closure. Simply slide a pen through both loops to ensure the cover stays closed.
