Hobonichi Techo A6 Planner Cover | Arts&Science: Wax Coating Kip

The cover was created in collaboration with Arts&Science — a store and brand run by Sonya Park, who also oversees the English edition of the Hobonichi Techo Planner.

The leather used in this edition is Wax Coating Kip — vegetable-tanned calfskin, finished with dye. The wax is hand-rubbed by artisans, bringing out a deep luster while maintaining the natural character of the leather. The color is a deep, rich dark brown — the interaction of wax and dye creates distinctive tonal variations and a beautiful glow. The longer you use the cover, the deeper the color becomes and the more the luster develops. It's a cover you nurture over time — until it becomes something unique and special.

Design and details

• Minimalist design without metal fittings: The strap closure is threaded through a loop — you can adjust its length even as the planner thickens with stickers and cards.
• Natural leather edges: The edges are left undyed — the natural color of the kip shows through as a subtle design accent.
• Arts&Science logo on the back cover: The characteristic key motif embossed into the leather.
• Pen holder: Designed to hold a pen by its clip.
• Interior: "ARTS&SCIENCE" and "HOBONICHI" logos blind-embossed into the leather.

Hobonichi leather covers are made from natural materials with a unique appearance. Each cover is one-of-a-kind — you can expect natural traces of the animal's life: wrinkles, veins, texture, and scratches.
