minä perhonen is a brand that creates timeless, completely original clothing fabrics — specially dyed, embroidered, and woven to recreate hand-drawn patterns. Founded in 1995 by designer Akira Minagawa under the name minä, it was rebranded as minä perhonen in 2003. In Finnish, "minä" means "I," and "perhonen" means "butterfly," expressing the dream of creating designs as light and beautiful as the flutter of a butterfly's wing.

The pattern of this cover is named "skyful (Yellow)" and is a new iteration of a highly popular motif from 2014 — created specifically for the Hobonichi collection. The embroidery of colorful, bright dots depicts a starry sky. The use of two different types of threads gives the pattern a palpable, raised texture and creates a delightful interplay of matte and shine.

• Fabric: Soft cotton material richly decorated with cotton, rayon, and polyester thread embroidery.
• Interior and Butterfly-Stopper closure: Both in an intense, bright yellow color — an energetic contrast to the embroidery.
• Two ribbon bookmarks: Finished with small embroidered beads strung like pearls.

Functionality and details

• "Butterfly-Stopper" closure: Double pen loops — by threading the clip or barrel of your pen through both loops, you prevent the cover from accidentally opening during transport. The holders can accommodate writing instruments up to 13.5 mm in diameter.
• Pocket system: 5 smaller pockets for cards and business cards, a long flat compartment for receipts and tickets, and a large exterior back pocket for handy documents.
