The Wancher x Kuretake Kindai Maki-e Senmen Red combines traditional Japanese-inspired decoration with a lightweight, slender design for everyday writing. It is part of the Maki-e Monogatari series, which includes 18 designs inspired by Japanese culture, symbols, and folklore.

Kindai Maki-e and inspiration from nature

The decoration is created through a collaboration between Wancher and Kuretake artisans. The Kindai Maki-e design is coated with transparent urushi lacquer, which also protects it. The series also draws on the Rimpa tradition, featuring motifs of flowers, trees, mountains, and animals.

A slender pen for everyday use

The barrel and cap are made from deep-drawn aluminum. The seamless barrel showcases the decoration, while the rounded design maintains a slim 11 mm diameter. The pen features a gold-plated stainless steel nib with an iridium tip, available in F and M sizes. It can be filled using cartridges or the included converter.
