Kakimori Nib Cleaning Solution

Kakimori Nib Cleaning Solution is designed to remove dried ink, rejuvenate clogged nibs and improve poor ink flow.

Not recommended for other brands of pens.

Instructions for use:

Step 1: Pre-wash

Remove the converter and rinse the nib under running water. Point the nib downward and rinse it with water.

Step 2: Soaking

Kakimori Ink Cleaning Solution:

Place the nib, pointing down, directly into the bottle of ink cleaning solution. If the nib floats, close the bottle lid and gently shake it up and down until the nib is completely submerged. Leave to soak for 9-12 hours.

Step 3: Rinsing

Rinse under running water as described in Step 1. Allowing the solution to dry may leave a white powder. Rinse the nib thoroughly. Wash your hands thoroughly after rinsing.

Place a tissue on the nib and shake it vigorously to remove any remaining ink or water.

Step 4. Refilling

Refill your pen (see instructions below for each pen type).

The ink will initially be watery due to residual water from the previous step. The ink will return to its original consistency with use. To prevent damage to the nib from friction, avoid excessive pressure until the ink has reached full viscosity.

Kakimori Ink Cleaning Solution can be used to remove stubborn dried ink from dip pen nibs. Gently clean with a toothbrush and a small amount of the solution, without soaking. Avoid soaking brass nibs as this may discolor them.
