The Wren Brass – a writing tool that bears the marks of time

There are things you buy once. The Wren Brass is one of them.

Brass is a material with character – heavier, warmer, more present in the hand than aluminium or steel. With each month of use, it subtly changes: it darkens where you hold it, develops its own patina, becoming more and more yours. This is not a defect – this is precisely the point.

Weighing in at 53g (over twice as much as a standard Wren), the pen sits in your hand with a pleasing gravity. You don't have to try – it guides itself. The Japanese-made nib glides across paper with precision that would make watchmaking envious – because it is turned by the same artisans in the UK who machine parts for luxury watches and aviation.

It works with fountain pen ink – you fill it, you write, you fill it again. No disposables, no plastic, no compromise on writing quality.

Ink

Compatible with all standard fountain pen inks – including the full range of Tom’s Studio colours. Not suitable for glitter or calligraphy inks.

One fill of the reservoir is enough for approximately 344 meters of writing – roughly 50 A4 pages. Verified on a plotter, not just by word of honour.

Care

Brass darkens and develops a patina over time – this is a natural process that many users simply enjoy. If you prefer to keep your pen shiny, a little care is all it takes. The manufacturer provides an instructional video on their website.
